Students are expected to have their instrument in good working order. Students are expected to bring all necessary materials to their lessons.
All students are required to have the following at every lesson:
- A dedicated band folder in which to keep their Standard of Excellence book, a pencil, and their practice copies.
- A copy of the Standard of Excellence Book
- Pencil
The following items are specific to different instruments:
- Woodwind players are expected to have at least two working reeds as well as any necessary neck straps or cork grease.
- Brass players are expected to have their mouthpieces as well as the necessary valve oil, slide oil, and tuning slide grease for their instruments.
- Percussionists must have their sticks, mallets and stick bags with them at all rehearsals and lessons.
